Dr. Rak Kim is Assistant Professor at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He is an internationally leading scholar in the field of international environmental law and governance with more than 50 publications. He leads several research efforts, including a five-year research programme on problem shifting between international environmental treaties, supported by a 1.5 million euro ‘Starting Grant’ awarded to him by the European Research Council. He teaches a number of Bachelor and Master-level courses and supervises research students, including five PhD scholars. He has received several marks of recognition in his career, including a nomination for Utrecht University’s Outstanding Teacher Award.
