Celebrating Beethoven’s big birthday in 2020 . . .
A special Wind Serenades ‘BEETHOVEN 250’ celebration in November (as close to Beethoven’s birth date as we know) – two 3-day (2 nights) courses with expert in-depth tuition. The venue is Park Place, Wickham, Hampshire (easy travel by road or rail).
18-20 November: ensembles tutored by Janet Hilton (clarinet), Laurence Perkins (bassoon) and Yoshiko Endo (piano), for advanced (diploma standard) players – Sextet Op.71, Quintet Op.16, Octet Op.103 (players will be allocated one of these three works)
20-22 November: Ensemble tutored by Laurence Perkins, for advanced and intermediate players (graded parts) – new performing versions of the mighty ‘Eroica’ Varations, plus the delightful set of 12 Kontretänze which were featured in the 2020 New Year Viennese Concert in Vienna (and includes the famous ‘Eroica’ theme).
You can do both courses if you wish – but places are going fast!
Each course will end with an informal performance of the works featured. There will also be a tutor’s concert on 19th November at 7.30pm – the programme will include Beethoven’s Trio Op.38 (his own version of the Septet Op.20)
